The Early Bird Special Hunt can be a Great Secret

This Hunt uses primarily Ground Blinds, possibly a Tree Stand, and mostly "Ambush Style", sit and wait strategies on trail systems, feeding areas, water, and wallows.  Private Land Resident Elk can get very comfortable in their routines and patterns if left undisturbed.

These are the VERY First Hunts of the year and the chances of an ambush on a Resident Private Land Bull is the very best of the entire season minus peak rut times.  These Elk are still mostly in pre-rut phases and are still casually doing their Elk thing.  The biggest Bulls are often the last ones to show up to early Rutting Events - allowing younger bulls to round cows up, smaller groups to form slightly larger bunches. The bigger Bulls keep their routines on grass, water, and cover until the Rut gets into second gear.

These hunts also see the best responses to light Cow Calls while using a sitting and waiting strategy.

This is a mostly Guided Guided Hunt with a little Semi Guided mixed in.  If you are a Father/Son or a Buddy and Friends Hunter.  You might be placed into a blind or stand and the Guide will continue on and place another hunter as well.  Then circle back to you and call for you and then call a little for another hunter and back and forth.
